And we’ve been to England. Again 🙂 This time we decided to visit towns we hadn’t been to before and had so much fun. So for your inspiration – if you’re planning a trip to the UK – here’s what we did during our 10 day trip to England and Scotland:

The places we visited were Cambridge, York, Durham, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Here’s our itinerary together with information about hotels and how much everything cost:
We arrived at Heathrow airport on Sunday 24 July 2016.
Tube: Heathrow Terminals to King’s Cross, London.
Cost with Oyster card, off peak: £3,10
Train: King’s Cross to Cambridge. Travel time 46 minutes.
Cost: £16,50 per person
We stayed in Cambridge from Sunday 24 July to Tuesday 26 July 2016
Hotel: Travelodge Cambridge Newmarket Road
Total cost of hotel for two nights: £98

Bus: Bus X5 from Cambridge to St Neots. Travel time 30 minutes (bus timetable)
Cost: £5 per person
Train: St Neots to York. Travel time 1 hour 51 minutes.
Cost: £16,50 per person (we saved a lot of money by taking the train from St Neots instead of Cambridge)
We stayed in York from Tuesday 26 July to Thursday 28 July 2016
Train: York to Durham. Travel time 42 minutes.
Cost: £7,10 per person
We stayed in Durham from Thursday 28 July to Saturday 30 July 2016
Hotel: Travelodge Durham
Total cost of hotel for two nights: £88
Train: Durham to Glasgow. Travel time 3 hours 23 minutes.
Cost: £21,30 per person
We stayed in Glasgow from Saturday 30 July to Tuesday 2 August 2016
Hotel: Premier Inn Glasgow City Centre Buchanan Galleries
Total cost of hotel for three nights: £174
Train: Glasgow to Edinburgh. Travel time to Edinburgh Waverley 59 minutes but we got off the train 4 minutes before at a previous station, Edinburgh Haymarket.
Cost: £8,50 per person
We stayed in Edinburgh from Tuesday 2 August to Wednesday 3 August 2016
Hotel: Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Haymarket) hotel
Total cost of hotel for one night: £92
Total cost of the trip
Total cost of the trip (10 hotel nights + tube, bus and train travel between towns):
£362,5 per person (based on two people sharing the hotel rooms)
